Disturbed...

Okay,
Let's get past the fact that I'm a grown ass man and I still avidly read comic books. Okay, now that we've done that, perhaps someone can tell me why Marvel Comics is losing their fricking minds?! Ummm, they have this series out called "The End", and it spans at least two different X titles-- X-Men: The End and Wolverine: The End. In them, they basically contain the plot line of how the entire X-Men roster is killed off. Okay, so far (in X-Men) they've knocked off Cable, Warpath, Shatterstarr and Boom Boom in one book, and brought back Madelyne Pryor in the next. Haven't gotten to Wolverine, yet. Now, in Uncanny X-Men, they've supposedly killed off Avalanche, Black Tom Cassidy, Juggernaut AND Sabretooth. Won't say how, but what the--?!
On another note, why does the Love Jones soundtrack still rock??? I mean Maxwell, Me'shell, Amel, Dionne Farris, Ellington & Coltraine and Cassandra Wilson on the same LP?! Whoever conceived that LP was a genius. Oh yeah, for those that remember the distinguished "...could get it" list, Cassandra Wilson could get it, too. Her locks and her smile just do it for me, man. The importance of good dental hygiene and a naturally beautiful smile is truly an understated phenomenon. Okay, not a phenomenon, but I couldn't think of the right adjective to replace that particular word for some reason. A say a naturally beautiful smile because, although a straight smile is really nice, the teeth don't have to be perfect to have a nice smile. That, and whether or not the smile is genuine. That fake smile shit, is not hittin' for 2005...just so ya'll know. Don't get it twisted though, it's gonna be really hard to come off sexy when you smiling with your baby teeth overlapping your permanent teeth and you're 30 years old. Just a word to the wise.
What else...? Oh, Turkey day coming up...like I give a fuck. I'm more associating Thanksgiving and Columbus days as personal days to myself and/or family. I really can't see celebrating the systematic massacre and quarantine of the Native Peoples of THIS land to be a festive kind of thing, y'know? Hey for Christmas, you do the nativity scene, so for Thanksgiving, you can re-enact Amhearst handing out blankets infested with smallpox as a token of "Good Will" to the Natives. That'd be really (un)cool, so I guess we'll just remember them saving the pilgrims by teaching them to live in harmony with the land...like that really lasted. (sigh)
I won't be political on such a relaxed day, though. I'll leave that for Granma's Kitchen... By the way, for those who do actually go by her journal, I went and fixed some bugs that were present in her journal. The biggest thing was the small text, which I finally figured out was coming from her end, so I'll have to develop a work-around for that, so I don't have to go in and modify some of the code each time she posts. Oh--! Folks are giving really good feedback for the illpoets.com CD so far!! I'm really happy about that, man. For those who don't know, you can cop said LP off of illpoets.com and write reviews for it if you already have it (You'd have to do that through CDBaby.com, though).
Well, I could write more, but that don't mean ya'll will read it, so...I'ma roll. As you see though, I'm getting back to my old self with the posting. I'm trying ya'll, but it just takes a bit of time to get in some for real writing, not that filler I've been doing way too often.
Hey Bru, you beat that damn game, yet?!
One ya'll!!
PS- Figured I'd milk this unexpected resurgence of a crush I got lately and use it as a reason to write. Here's a haiku excerpt from this poem I wrote today called "Enchanted"

Sorceress of lust
You are what dreams are made of
But do dreams come true
